Product Detailed Description:

Nylon (polyamide / PA) pneumatic tubing is a rigid, high-pressure air hose engineered for demanding compressed air, hydraulic, and fluid transfer applications where polyurethane tubing reaches its limits. Manufactured from high-grade PA6 or PA12 polyamide resin, it delivers superior pressure-holding capacity, extended temperature range, and excellent chemical resistance compared to standard PU tube.

The tubing features a smooth internal bore for low flow resistance and a precisely controlled outer diameter compatible with standard push-in fittings and compression fittings. Available in metric sizes from 4 mm to 16 mm OD and inch sizes from 5/32" to 1/2", nylon tube covers high-pressure circuits, high-temperature environments, and chemically aggressive atmospheres that would degrade polyurethane tubing.

Standard colors — black, blue, natural (translucent), red, green, yellow, and white — support color-coded circuit identification. The tubing is supplied in continuous lengths on spools (typically 25 m, 50 m, or 100 m) or cut to specified lengths.

Nylon tube operates reliably from -40°C to 100°C with working pressures up to 2.0 MPa or higher. Its polyamide construction provides excellent resistance to heat aging, oil vapor, automotive fluids, and many industrial chemicals — making it the tubing of choice for automotive, CNC machining, heavy industry, and outdoor installations.

Application Industries:

Nylon tube serves pneumatic and fluid applications where PU tube cannot meet the pressure, temperature, or chemical resistance requirements. In automotive manufacturing and engine testing, it supplies high-pressure air and fluid circuits in engine bays, transmission test stands, and brake system test equipment exposed to heat and oil vapor. CNC machining and metalworking use nylon tube for coolant-resistant, high-pressure connections to pneumatic chucks, tool changers, and spindle air purge systems in coolant-spray environments.

Heavy industry and steel processing rely on nylon tube for blast furnace instrumentation, rolling mill pneumatic controls, and foundry equipment where ambient temperatures exceed the 60°C PU limit. Chemical processing and petrochemical plants use it for instrument air lines, valve actuator supply, and sampling system tubing where chemical resistance is essential.

Outdoor and exposed installations — construction equipment, agricultural machinery, rail signaling pneumatics, and wastewater treatment — choose nylon tube for its UV resistance (black variant), wide temperature tolerance, and immunity to weather-related degradation.Medical and laboratory equipment employs nylon's rigidity for precise, stable pneumatic routing in analytical instruments. Robotics and automation in high-cycle, high-temperature zones complete its application profile.

Product Feature:

Nylon air hose pipe can resist the corrosion of many chemical substances; its size is stable and its permeability is small; its resistance is great and it can be used as an insulator; its service life is long, even decades; and its temperature resistance is high.

Product Advantages

  • High working pressure — up to 2.0 MPa and beyond. Nylon tube withstands working pressures 2–3× higher than equivalent PU tube. This enables its use in high-pressure pneumatic circuits, hydraulic pilot lines, and compressed gas systems where PU's 1.0 MPa limit is insufficient. Burst pressure typically exceeds 3× working pressure at 20°C.
  • Extended temperature range — -40°C to 100°C. Nylon operates reliably at temperatures that would soften and fail PU tube: -40°C cold starts in outdoor machinery, -20°C freezer warehouse air circuits, and continuous operation up to 100°C in engine bays, autoclaves, and heat-treatment equipment. This range covers applications from arctic outdoor installations to proximity to furnaces and exhaust systems.
  • Superior chemical and oil resistance. Polyamide resists degradation from petroleum-based oils, synthetic lubricants, diesel fuel, cutting fluids, and many industrial solvents that attack and embrittle polyurethane. In CNC machine tool enclosures, automotive engine compartments, and chemical plant instrument air systems, nylon tube survives where PU tube would soften, swell, or crack within months.
  • Dimensional stability — no creep or relaxation. Nylon's inherent rigidity means it maintains its installed shape over time. Unlike flexible PU tube that can sag, creep, or relax in hot environments, nylon tube routed once stays in place. This is critical in precision instrumentation, automated test equipment, and applications where tubing position affects machine operation or safety.
  • Lower moisture absorption than PA6 alternatives. PA12-based nylon tube absorbs approximately 50% less moisture than PA6, maintaining dimensional stability and pressure rating even in high-humidity environments. This makes PA12 the preferred nylon grade for pneumatic applications exposed to ambient moisture, outdoor condensing conditions, or wet industrial environments.
  • Compatible with push-in and compression fittings. Precision-controlled OD tolerances ensure reliable sealing in standard push-in fittings. The harder tube surface also grips securely in compression-style fittings (ferrule type) commonly used in high-pressure and hydraulic circuits where push-in fittings are unsuitable.

Application:

  • High-pressure compressor discharge lines — rated 2.5 MPa, 2.5× standard PU tubing
  • CNC machine tool coolant and air systems — resistant to cutting oils, coolants, and lubricants
  • Injection molding and die casting hot zones — withstands 120°C near barrels and molds
  • Chemical plant instrument air — resists acid and alkali mists that degrade PU
  • Long unsupported horizontal runs — rigid structure holds shape without sagging
  • Outdoor pneumatic equipment — UV stable, no yellowing or embrittlement after years of sun exposure
  • Automotive manufacturing — resistant to engine bay heat and oil splash
  • Cleanroom fixed piping — rigid, dust-free, professional appearance on ceiling trays
  • High-temperature industrial ovens — FKM-compatible versions for up to 150°C ambient
  • Heavy-duty workshop air networks — permanent main trunk lines from compressor to workstations

Installation and Usage:

  • Mounting: Select from LB foot bracket (most common), FA/FB front or rear flange (highest rigidity), CR center trunnion (pivoting applications), direct through-hole (lowest profile), or CA/CB/TC clevis/swivel (for linkages with angular misalignment). Loosely tighten all bolts, cycle the cylinder through full stroke 2–3 times to self-align, then torque to specification.
  • Piping: Connect compressed air tubing to both ports. Port sizes: G1/8" (bore 32–50 mm), G1/4" (bore 63–100 mm), G3/8" (bore 125 mm). Use one-way flow control valves with meter-out control at both ports for smooth, adjustable speed.
  • Air supply: Use compressed air filtered to 40 μm or finer. Lubricated or non-lubricated operation is acceptable. If using lubricated air, use ISO VG32 turbine oil and maintain consistent lubrication once started.
  • Auto switch installation: Slide the auto switch into the mounting groove on any of the four body faces. Position at the desired stroke-end detection point. Tighten the clamp screw lightly. Press dust-proof resin fastener strips into unused grooves to prevent debris accumulation.
  • Cushioning adjustment (air cushion type): Start with cushion needle valves fully closed. Cycle the cylinder and gradually open the valve until the load decelerates smoothly without hard bottoming at stroke end. Do not overtighten the needle valve.
  • Side load prevention: Ensure the load is aligned axially with the piston rod. The MB1 is not designed for lateral loads — use an external linear guide or switch to a guided cylinder (ADVUL) if side forces cannot be avoided.
  • Temperature limits: Standard NBR seals: -10 °C to 70 °C. For environments outside this range, select Viton (up to 150 °C) or low-temperature PU (down to -40 °C) at time of order.
  • Long-term storage: If storing unused, apply anti-rust oil to the exposed piston rod and install dust caps on the air ports. Do not remove the tie rods or disassemble the covers before use.

FAQ

Q1.Nylon vs. PU tube — which should I choose?

A1.Nylon: higher pressure (up to 2.0+ MPa), higher temperature (-40°C to 100°C), better chemical/oil resistance, more rigid, larger bend radius. Best for high-pressure circuits, hot environments, chemical exposure, and outdoor use. PU: more flexible, tighter bends, better abrasion resistance, lower pressure/temperature. Best for general automation, robotics, and dynamic applications within 0–60°C and 0–1.0 MPa.

Q2. What OD do I need for high-pressure circuits?

A2. Match OD to fitting size. For high-pressure ( 1.0 MPa), verify both the tube and fitting are rated for your working pressure. Standard push-in fittings are typically rated to 1.0 MPa. For higher pressures, use compression fittings with the same tube OD.

Q3. Can nylon tube replace PU tube in an existing system?

A3. Yes, if fittings are the same size. However, nylon is less flexible — existing tight bends routed for PU may exceed nylon's minimum bend radius. Inspect the routing before substitution. Re-route with larger bend radii or add elbow fittings at tight corners.

Q4. How do I calculate required length?

A4. Measure routing path plus 10% for tolerance and service loops. Nylon is more difficult to re-route than PU — plan the path carefully before cutting. Order the next full spool size up.

Q5. How long does nylon tube last?

A5.In a clean, properly specified environment, nylon tube lasts 10+ years. Replace sooner if: surface shows cracks, crazing, or discoloration; tube becomes brittle; repeated leaks occur at fittings; or it has been exposed to chemicals beyond its compatibility range.

Q6. Nylon tube has stress cracks at bend points — why?

A6. Bend radius is too tight for the tube OD. Reroute with larger radius or replace the bend with an elbow fitting. Also check for chemical exposure — some solvents accelerate stress cracking in nylon under mechanical strain.

Q7. How should I store unused nylon tube?

A7.Keep in sealed original packaging. Nylon absorbs moisture from the air — store in a dry environment. For moisture-critical applications (dry air, instrument air), pre-dry tubing before installation if it has been stored in humid conditions.

Q8. Is AIRWORK nylon tube compatible with all fitting brands?

A8. Yes. Our nylon tube OD tolerances meet international standards and are compatible with SMC, Festo, Parker, Airtac, Legris, Norgren, and all other major push-in and compression fitting brands. Brand-specific tubing is not required.

Q9.What warranty?

A9.Dimensional accuracy and material quality guaranteed. Free replacement for manufacturing defects. Samples available for evaluation before bulk purchase. Standard spool lengths: 25 m, 50 m, 100 m. Custom lengths available.
