One-way flow control valves are called throttle valves amd also called speed controller which are part of the category of flow control valves. They restrict the flow of the compressed air in the flow direction. A throttle valve is used to regulate volumetric flow rates. The restrictor creates a narrowing of the line's cross-section – it is a localised flow resistance.

With a throttle valve, the greater the pressure difference, the greater the volumetric flow rate, since the volumetric flow rate depends on the differential pressure at the throttle point.

Installation

1.Installation and removal of tubing

1.1.Installation of tubing

Grasp the tubing and slowly push it into the fitting until it comes to a stop.The tubing will be locked by the spring gasket.

1.2.Removaloftubing

Push the release button to open the spring gasket so that the tubing can be released.

Note:When remove the tubing.make sure the pressure in the tubing is Zero.

2.Mounting of the speed controlle

Mount the speed controller into the inlet and outlet port of the cylinder with a wrench.

Note: Please refer to the fittings for the tightening torque and thread screw-in depth.

FAQ

Q1.How do I choose between meter-out and meter-in?

A1.Choose meter-out (throttle the exhaust) for standard double-acting cylinders — it gives stable motion under varying loads. Meter-in (throttle the supply) is only for light loads, single-acting cylinders or special cases. When in doubt, use meter-out.

Q2.How many valves do I need per cylinder?

A2.One valve per direction of motion. To control extend and retract speeds independently, use two valves — one on each cylinder port.

Q3.Is it compatible with SMC AS / Airtac ASC?

A3.Yes — same thread, tube size, flow characteristic and mounting, a drop-in replacement at factory-direct price. Send us your original part number and we will match the equivalent model.

Q4.Can I use it with my existing tubing and fittings?

A4.Yes — it works with standard nylon, soft nylon and PU tubes of the matching O.D., and with standard push-in fittings. Metric and inch sizes are NOT interchangeable.

Q5.The cylinder speed drifts — what should I check?

A5.First check that the knob is locked and has not been turned. Then check for dirt in the needle (clean the filter element, flush the needle) and for leaks at the thread or tube port. If the needle seat still leaks after cleaning, replace the valve.

Q6.Can I repair the valve, or should I replace it?

A6.The valve is a compact sealed assembly. Cleaning the needle and replacing the tube-side seal is usually enough; if the needle seat or body is damaged, replace the valve.

Q7.What pressure and temperature range does it accept?

A7.Working pressure 0.05–0.9 MPa, proof pressure 1.5 MPa, working temperature -5 °C to 60 °C. High-temperature versions with FKM seals are available on request.
