PU Polyurethane tube

Pneumatic tubing is used when compressed air is to be supplied to the point of consumption. Which tube is the right one depends on the area of application and the individual requirements. It is important that the tubing is maintained regularly so that defects can be ruled out and the longevity and functionality of the pneumatic application is not jeopardised. AIRWORK pneumatic tubing is just as reliable at meeting standard requirements as it is at operating in extreme conditions such as heat, welding spatter, high pH values or hydrolysis resistance.

  • Recommended Products

Pneumatic tubing made of polyurethane (or PU) is the first choice when pneumatic control systems have to be connected. It is available in numerous sizes and is characterised by its flexibility and small bending radii. PU pneumatic tubing is available in many different colours, which is practical for keeping track of the individual lines when installing tubing for complex control systems. It meets numerous requirements thanks to its different special properties: they are spatter-proof, flame-retardant and electrically conductive.

FAQ

Q1. What types of tubing can be used as vacuum piping?
A1. Basically, all AIRWORK tubing can be used at pressures of up to -100 kPa. As tubing and fittings generally come as a set, be sure to check the operating pressure range of the fitting as well before use.
Q2. What types of tubing can be used for fluids such as water and cold water?
A2. The following series are applicable for general industrial water if it is below the max.operating pressure.
Soft nylon tubing; polyurethane tubing; wear-resistant tubing; flame-resistant tubing
Q3. What is the service life of each type of tubing? In addition, is there any life data available?
A3. Life data is not available because it varies greatly depending on the operating environment, fluid, and other conditions. The warranty period is the period within 1 year from the beginning of use or within 1.5 years of delivery, whichever comes first, so long as it has been used in accordance with the terms and conditions of use stated in the catalog.
Q4. Can any type of SMC tubing be manufactured as flat tubing?
A4. The types of tubing in the catalog that can be manufactured flat are soft polyurethane tubing, wear-resistant tubing. However, nylon tubing cannot be manufactured flat.
