Product Detailed Description:

The PU tube is a polyurethane pneumatic hose with a smooth-bore design and high flexibility. Engineered as a direct replacement for brand-name polyurethane tubing, it delivers identical performance and push-in fitting compatibility at significantly lower cost. Lightweight, kink-resistant and abrasion-resistant, it reliably connects push-in fittings, cylinders and valves from -20 °C to 60 °C.

Application Industries

  • Pneumatic transmission lines — the standard tubing between valves, cylinders and fittings
  • Automation assembly lines — air supply for cylinders, grippers and sensors
  • Packaging machinery — tubing for sealing, labeling and conveying units
  • Textile machinery — air circuits for tensioning and cutting units
  • Semiconductor & electronics equipment — clean, lightweight air lines
  • Food & beverage processing — non-toxic tubing for control air
  • Robotics & grippers — flexible air lines for moving joints
  • Vehicle & special machinery — air lines on buses, trucks and workshop equipment
  • Laboratory & medical equipment — small-bore air transmission
  • General factory air — quick, neat point-to-point connections in any plant

Product Advantages

  • High flexibility — easy to route in tight spaces; good bending radius without kinking.
  • Lightweight — reduces load on fittings and moving parts.
  • Abrasion & tear resistant — ester grade for high-wear applications; long service life.
  • Smooth inner bore — low pressure loss, high flow rate.
  • Wide size range — O.D. Ø4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 / 16 mm with matching wall thicknesses.
  • Working pressure up to 1.0 MPa (size-dependent; reference values by size in the selection guide).
  • Wide temperature range — -20 °C to 60 °C continuous service.
  • 6+ colors — blue, black, red, yellow, green, white and transparent for circuit identification.
  • Push-in fitting compatible — works with all standard metric push-in fittings (SMC, Festo, PISCO, Airtac).
  • Factory direct — rolls, cut-to-length, custom colors and printing; low MOQ.

Installation and Usage:

Installation

  • Cut the tube square — use a tube cutter (not scissors or a knife); a square, burr-free end ensures a full seal in push-in fittings.
  • Insert into the fitting — push the tube firmly and straight into the push-in fitting until it bottoms out; you will feel or hear it lock. Give a light pull to confirm.
  • Route with adequate bending radius — avoid sharp bends at the fitting; keep the bending radius at least 5× the tube O.D. to prevent stress at the joint.
  • Secure long runs — support long tube runs with clamps or cable ties to avoid pulling force on fittings.

Usage Precautions

  • Use within the rated working pressure and -20 °C to 60 °C temperature range.
  • Do not step on, crush or drag the tube across sharp edges; protect from weld sparks and hot surfaces.
  • Do not bend the tube sharply at the same point repeatedly — this can cause kinking and fatigue.
  • Keep the tube away from oil and solvents that may attack polyurethane (check compatibility for your medium).
  • On moving parts, leave enough slack and use a spiral hose guard if needed.

Maintenance

  • Check periodically: tube fully inserted in fittings, no cracks, no leakage (soapy water test).
  • If the tube becomes loose in the fitting, cut a fresh square end and reinsert.
  • Replace the tube if it is kinked, flattened or cracked — do not patch.
  • Store spare rolls away from direct sunlight and ozone sources to prevent aging.

FAQ

Q1. How do I choose the right tube size?

A1. Match the O.D. to your push-in fittings (metric 4/6/8/10/12 mm or inch sizes — they are NOT interchangeable). The I.D. (wall thickness) depends on your pressure and flow needs — see the reference table in the selection guide or send us your application details.

Q2. What is the working pressure of each size?

A2. Reference values at 20 °C: 4×2.5 and 6×4 up to 1.0 MPa, 8×5 up to 0.8 MPa, 10×6.5 up to 0.7 MPa, 12×8 up to 0.6 MPa. Pressure ratings decrease at higher temperatures; we will confirm exact values for your sizes.

Q3. Is it compatible with SMC / Festo / PISCO / Airtac push-in fittings?

A3.Yes — standard metric PU tube fits all standard metric push-in fittings from these brands. Just make sure the tube O.D. matches the fitting size and that you use metric (not inch) sizes.

Q4. PU vs nylon (soft nylon) tube — which should I use?

A4. PU tube is more flexible and kink-resistant with better elasticity — the best all-round choice for general push-in fitting systems. Soft nylon is stiffer and better for high-temperature or high-pressure lines. We supply both — tell us your application and we will recommend.

Q5. Why does my tube leak at the fitting?

A5.Most common causes: the tube end is not cut square, it is not pushed in fully, or the tube O.D. does not match the fitting. Cut a fresh square end, push in until it locks and confirm with a light pull.

Q6.How long does PU tube last?

A6.Years of service with clean, dry air within rated pressure and temperature. UV light and ozone cause aging — store spare rolls away from direct sunlight and inspect tubes periodically for cracks.

Q7.What is the working temperature range?

A7.-20 °C to 60 °C continuous service; special high-temperature and low-temperature grades available on request.

Q8. Can you customize color, length, printing and packaging?

A8.Yes — custom colors (Pantone), cut-to-length, printed brand / size marking and custom packaging are all available. Send your drawing or sample.
